Hi. I'm Amy Rice, owner of Woodruff's Art Center. I started this business in 1989 and still love it! How fortunate am I to do what I love and enjoy working with the best staff ever! I am the hands on "jack of all trades and master of some". I oversee the every day business, order product, do merchandising, bookkeeping, maintenance, hang gallery exhibits, assist customers with art supplies and custom frame design, change light bulbs and my favorite job….paint/create art for the gallery. Amongst my staff I'm known as "The Salvage Queen" because of my knack for finding remedies for any problems that come up. How do I find time to do it all and also keep competitive with my tennis game? People ask me that all the time and I wonder myself but I guess when you enjoy all you're doing you somehow always find the time. I'm in and out all week and all hours between the shop and home studio/office but always accessible.
My name is Lisa Horton. When I first started at Woodruff's Art Center I didn't know anything about custom framing and very little about art supplies. Luckily they offered on the job training. Now some 18 years later I am experienced in all aspects of custom framing from assisting clients at the design counter to building shadowbox frames and everything in between. I will help customers select a piece of art work from our gallery as well as aide students with their art supply list. I love my job and my co-workers. We work hard at Woodruff's but we enjoy our work, each other and our customers. I've been accused of being a people person and am proud to have that title.
Ola, I'm Cecilia Capitanio. I have a variety of art interests. I've been painting since I was a child, and am represented here at Woodruff's, I work with oils, acrylic, watercolor and pastels and can help customers with there questions about art supplies. In addition to art my focus here is custom framing, consulting, designing and building as well as specializeing in needlework framing. I'm happy to help you with all your custom framing needs.
Hi, my name is Cailyn. I work at Woodruff's Art Center part time, I'm happy to help you with any art supplies you need or answer any questions you may have about art supplies the next time you're in the shop. I'm also an art major at Cape Cod Community College. I just finished my second year and only have a few more credits to go. In my free time I enjoy painting in watercolor or acrylics, making jewelry, or taking pictures, I also like sculpting with wire or fabric. I like to show my work and am currently showing at several galleries.
My name is Fay Harry and I'm 87 years young, I enjoy playing golf and going to the gym. It's a big job but I've been keeping all the girls here in line for over 18 years. Seriously, I come in and help out when they're short handed or to help out at the meet the artist receptions. If you have any questions, don't ask me, go to one of the other girls, they're all great and really know their business
